PG Tips TV Advert and Evaluation
Evaluation
In this task, as a group, we need to create a TV Advert that re-brands a product to a different audience. For the advert my group decided to select PG Tips and re-brand it to a younger audience because the main target audience of PG Tips is of the older generation. There was three of us in the group. One had pitched a Marmite advert and the other two pitched a PG Tips advert. as a group we thought the best thing to do was film a PG Tips advert because two out of three people already had ideas for this product.
To collect feedback I played the advert to people that fitted into the target audience. A lot of people said the action sequence was good and that when the two people are playing a game at the start of the video, it looks like a gaming video on YouTube. The main target for this TV advert was the re-brand PG Tips to a younger audience. I think this TV advert does this as it shows to use of technology (the game), which people within the target audience are familiar with and use on a daily basis. In this advert we as a group used a lot of different shots, VFX and SFX. The scene of the Advert was as if it was an actual gaming room. The costume what the people were wearing in the shot were also what a typical gamer would wear. I think that the adverts story was good and would appeal to the target audience as this was shown in the feedback given to me by people within my target audience. within this advert it shows that PG Tips will make you better at games. This will make people of the target audience believe its true and subconsciously do better at a game making them want more PG Tips. I wanted to show the target audience that PG Tips can also be for younger people not just older people. I think the advert looks professional and fits all rules and regulations given to me from the BCAP code.
I think that the editing of this TV advert was excellent. The start of the advert where game play is shown of a game is just a shot filmed in front of green screen and effects are used to make the characters look like they are in an old game. The fight scene was sped up to create more violent scene. the use of music i thought was also very good as the starting music was music typically used in a gaming video, which is the style of filming used at the start. The fight scene had music that would typically be played during a war scene. This boosts up the action in this scene. On the other hand I think that the audio of the dialogue is not of a good quality. This is because a microphone was not used. Also some of the shots were out of focus. Although some of the shots and the audio were not to good, I think the overall product was very good.

Depict Reflection
Depict Reflection
I think that overall the film was good. I think that that shot were executed correctly and that the music goes well with the film. The things that I could improve on is that there where a couple of shots that had the camera bag in. This was edited but I need to make sure that this does not happen again. In the shot over the piano you can see a reflection in the piano of my legs when I am filming the shot. This could be improved on but it did not effect the film as it is hard to see.

Winnow
Winnow
In this 90 second video there is a man. The man is dressed
in a suit and tie. He is in a forest and looks out of breath. He looks like he
has found what he has been looking for. The video then cuts to a tree. The man
is then shown climbing into the tree. There is a big hole in the tree and the
man falls down it. During the drop he loses his keys, wallet and phone. When the
phone falls out of his pocket. Someone is ringing it. After this happens he
then takes his clothes off. After falling for at least 1 minute the man lands
unharmed. He then sees a light from a hole in the surface he reaches for it
the, then crawls towards it. The video smoothly goes up through the soil above
to the surface. It then shows a small plant start growing. This could signify
the man has died and the plant has just begun life. The video could be a
representation of the cycle of life. This could also mean that the man wants to
become part of nature. He dumps his clothes, keys, wallet and phone. This could
mean he is dumping his life away to become one with nature. At the start of the
clip the man is heavily breathing. This could mean that he is being an animal
by acting like one. When there is a shot on the tree the sun shines onto it. This
is to signify that this is what the man wants. To the man the tree is a way to
nature. As the man walks toward the tree the camera goes out of focus. This could
be showing that everything except for the tree doesn’t matter. The tree is a
key to another world to this man.
The Fish and I
The Fish and I
In this 90 second film there is a blind man with a fish. At
the start of the film the fish is flopping on the floor because the bowl that
it lives in has fallen over and smashed. The fish then stops flopping and it
cuts to a man with a jug of water. The man is blind and cannot find his fish. A
phone is ringing in the background while the man searches for his fish. This
could mean that the fish’s life is almost over. While moving his hands over the
floor, the man finds a plug hole. He then takes off his shirt and blocks the
plug hole. The video then cuts to the man filling his jug up with water. He
does this repeatedly and floods his kitchen to make an attempt at saving his
fish. After he thinks that the depth of the water is large enough the man
searches for his fish again and fails. He loses hope. The video then cuts to
the man’s hand and the fish has survived. The fish swims into the man’s hand.
He realizes and his hand moves so that he doesn’t squish his fish. The use of a
black and white filter shows that the video is sad. This is then gone against
when the fish swims into his hand. The clip then has a happy ending. Then the
man blocks the plug whole he is wearing an expensive looking shirt. This is
what he uses to block up the plug hole. This is how much the fish means to him.
When the kitchen is shown that some plate on a rack. This shows that the blind
man is still able to do normal things even though he is blind. The man also has
all of the things in his kitchen are where they are supposed to be when you use
them. This is to help him because he is blind.

Pepsi Max Advert Evaluation
Evaluation
This Pepsi Max Advert has some brilliant aspects to it such as the realistic punch to knock out me when i was in possession of the package. But unfortunately there was some bad things involved in the advert. These includes where the music starts and how the corridor fight scene was filmed. The music starts at the beginning. I think that the music should start when there is an extreme close up of me. in the fight scene i think that when harry is shoved into the lockers the camera should stay on him to stay in the fight scene. The way it is now you don't see him get up so you don't know if the fight scene is going to carry on.
Overall, i think that this TV advert was good for a first try. The things that we got wrong this time can be improved the next time he do it.
