Winnow

Winnow

In this 90 second video there is a man. The man is dressed in a suit and tie. He is in a forest and looks out of breath. He looks like he has found what he has been looking for. The video then cuts to a tree. The man is then shown climbing into the tree. There is a big hole in the tree and the man falls down it. During the drop he loses his keys, wallet and phone. When the phone falls out of his pocket. Someone is ringing it. After this happens he then takes his clothes off. After falling for at least 1 minute the man lands unharmed. He then sees a light from a hole in the surface he reaches for it the, then crawls towards it. The video smoothly goes up through the soil above to the surface. It then shows a small plant start growing. This could signify the man has died and the plant has just begun life. The video could be a representation of the cycle of life. This could also mean that the man wants to become part of nature. He dumps his clothes, keys, wallet and phone. This could mean he is dumping his life away to become one with nature. At the start of the clip the man is heavily breathing. This could mean that he is being an animal by acting like one. When there is a shot on the tree the sun shines onto it. This is to signify that this is what the man wants. To the man the tree is a way to nature. As the man walks toward the tree the camera goes out of focus. This could be showing that everything except for the tree doesn’t matter. The tree is a key to another world to this man.

The Fish and I

The Fish and I

In this 90 second film there is a blind man with a fish. At the start of the film the fish is flopping on the floor because the bowl that it lives in has fallen over and smashed. The fish then stops flopping and it cuts to a man with a jug of water. The man is blind and cannot find his fish. A phone is ringing in the background while the man searches for his fish. This could mean that the fish’s life is almost over. While moving his hands over the floor, the man finds a plug hole. He then takes off his shirt and blocks the plug hole. The video then cuts to the man filling his jug up with water. He does this repeatedly and floods his kitchen to make an attempt at saving his fish. After he thinks that the depth of the water is large enough the man searches for his fish again and fails. He loses hope. The video then cuts to the man’s hand and the fish has survived. The fish swims into the man’s hand. He realizes and his hand moves so that he doesn’t squish his fish. The use of a black and white filter shows that the video is sad. This is then gone against when the fish swims into his hand. The clip then has a happy ending. Then the man blocks the plug whole he is wearing an expensive looking shirt. This is what he uses to block up the plug hole. This is how much the fish means to him. When the kitchen is shown that some plate on a rack. This shows that the blind man is still able to do normal things even though he is blind. The man also has all of the things in his kitchen are where they are supposed to be when you use them. This is to help him because he is blind.

Family Dinner

This 90 second video is about a classic family dinner time up the table. At the start of the video a grandmother and her son are shown are shown doing the stereotypical thing by arguing about something so irrelevant. The camera then pans to the left showing a couple playing a normal family game about guessing and describing. The camera continues to pan and stops panning when it lands on a brother and sister, with the younger brother asks a question about homosexuality the girl replies “it’s when you like boys”. The camera begins to pan again to the left. The camera then shows a woman and her father. The woman is showing her father how to print something an iPad. The camera then pans again and shows the grandmother makes a point that the son doesn’t agree with and finds it so irrelevant the he spits his drink out of his mouth. The camera then pans again to the left and shows the couple playing the game again. The camera then pans to the left again and show the boy asking his sister if he is gay because he is friends with a boy. The sister replies by asking their mother if she can tell her brother that he’s not gay. The camera then pans to the left again and the mother then says “it’s more than just liking someone, it’s more like kissing”. The boy then says that his sister must be gay because he saw her kissing. The camera then stops panning to the left and then pans to the right. The camera then stops panning and shows the brother and sister. The boy then says that when their parents were out he saw her kissing a boy called Rodger. This then makes the conversation completely focused on Rodger and the sister. Pepsi Max Advert Evaluation

Evaluation

This Pepsi Max Advert has some brilliant aspects to it such as the realistic punch to knock out me when i was in possession of the package. But unfortunately there was some bad things involved in the advert. These includes where the music starts and how the corridor fight scene was filmed. The music starts at the beginning. I think that the music should start when there is an extreme close up of me. in the fight scene i think that when harry is shoved into the lockers the camera should stay on him to stay in the fight scene. The way it is now you don't see him get up so you don't know if the fight scene is going to carry on.

Overall, i think that this TV advert was good for a first try. The things that we got wrong this time can be improved the next time he do it.
